Chapter One
After training for
the past two weeks Keira was beginning to be able to hold her own against
Connor and Ryan. Keira was thankful when
Ryan had returned a week after he had left.
She had a lot of questions about being part wolf that she had found answers
to through Ryan.
Connor and Ryan
had worked diligently with Keira with basic self-defense moves but more
importantly learning her abilities and controlling them. The negative energy that Keira had put off
was now blocked easily by her controlling it.
Keira’s ability to
blast powerful energy from her body was now being controlled and she could use
it at will. Learning the trigger to it
was easy. All she needed to do was
picture someone close to her in danger and concentrate on what she wanted to
do.
She learned that
she had the ability of moving objects with her mind, or simply thinking of them
would produce the object directly in front of her, suspended in the air. She also understood that more powers may
appear as she progresses with her training.
Unknown to Conner
and Ryan, Keira had practiced her ability to pick up items and direct them at a
target. She had even thrown Ryan across
the yard after one to many smart ass comments.
Ryan and Keira had become best friends.
She felt like she could talk to him about anything and no question was
stupid. Chance was off limits. There was
no way she was going to even acknowledge her feelings about him.
The latest ability
that she had learned was that of seeing into the future which had been what her
dreams had been telling her. Now, they
no longer had to come during sleep. She
needed only to think about it and she could see the outcome of whatever she
wished.
She grew
increasingly aggravated when she tried to think of her and Conner. Everything was a blur. She could see Chance and she could make out
the form of a man but the face was always blurry.
Ryan had gone home
2 days ago and Keira was relaxing at the stream not far from their hideaway.
Leaning back against a tree with her eyes closed she thought of Conner. He was never far from her thoughts. She never had a problem picturing him in her
imagination.
She had slept
alone ever since their night together.
Feeling as though she had done something wrong she tried to keep her
distance from him. Only together during
meals and training. Their only
communication had to do with her training.
Chance was always by her side and
she knew that Conner knew her feelings through him which made her progressively
tense when they were close.
Exhausted she
drifted off knowing with Chance nearby she was safe. So far they had seen no evidence that the evil
entity knew their whereabouts.
